It is with great sadness that we learned today of the passing of Chief Gene Shepherd, Shelby Township Fire Department who lost a long and courageous battle with cancer last evening.
Chief Shepherd was actively involved in the Macomb County EMS Medical Control Authority, serving as the Chair of the Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) Committee since its inception in 2009.
Gene’s leadership and guidance will be sorely missed. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to his family and members of the Shelby Township Fire Department. We have lost not only a true professional but a great friend.
