Region 2 North Trauma Network

The Region 2 North Trauma Network was established in June 2012 for the purposes of developing and maintaining a regional trauma plan to address all aspects of trauma care services in the region and to reduce morbidity, mortality and disability associated with trauma. Areas of focus include public information and prevention, medical direction, triage, transport, communications, leadership and facilities. This Network was designated by the Michigan Department of Community Health, Office of EMS and Trauma Systems pursuant to Section 20910(1) of the Public Health Code and subsequent to the departmental rules for the Statewide Trauma System.

The Region 2 Trauma Network includes Medical Control Authorities, hospitals, physicians, transporting pre-hospital life support agencies and other stakeholders in Macomb, Oakland and St. Clair Counties.

The Region 2 North Trauma Network is lead by the executive directors of each MCA in Macomb, Oakland and St. Clair Counties. Regional Trauma Committees have been created and include representation from each of the regional stakeholders. They include:

• Regional Trauma Advisory Council

• Regional Professional Standards Review Organization (RPSRO)

• Regional EMS Operations Committee

• Regional Injury Prevention Committee

• Regional Education Committee

• Regional Trauma Treatment Guidelines Committee

Each Committee has specific objectives outlined by the State. Region 2 North is represented at the Statewide Trauma Advisory Committee.
